WAM Screw Conveyors 1 EXTRA HEAVY DUTY SPIRALS

Description and working principle
There is a choice between heavy-duty Single Helicoid Screw Flights made from highly wear-resistant carbon steel for abrasive materials in applications with and without centre pipe and Double Helicoid Screw Flights for extra-heavy-duty applications with high material loads.
For corrosive materials and special applications the spirals are manufactured in stainless steel.

WAM Screw Conveyors 2 SCREWS MADE OF ENGINEERING POLYMERS SINTSCREW®

Description and working principle
Since the late 1980s, WAM® has continued to invest heavily into the development of new engineering polymers, by now known to WAM® customers as SINT® materials.
Being a market leader in the manufacturing of Screw Conveyors, the Company had planned for some time to introduce a new technology to the market that provides solutions for powder handling problems where, so far, no satisfactory solutions had been found.
Screw Conveyors and Feeders made from food-grade FDA-approved SINT®AL or from wear-resistant SINT®ER guarantee problem-free handling of materials with abrasive, acid, corrosive, alkaline and many other properties classified as difficult.

COUPLINGS
  • SINT®ER and SINT®AL screws are supplied with shaft couplings for WAM® end bearing assemblies and intermediate hanger bearings. Because of the clearance-free operation screw sections can also be coupled to one another without hanger bearings. That way modular design features can be easily achieved.
  • Because SINT®ER and SINT®AL screws and trough linings are manufactured at the WAM®-owned plastics foundry the creation of a made-to-measure customer standard is always an option.
Advantages and innovative features There is more than one reason why this technology deserves special attention:
  • Non-stick material improves the product flow and minimizes cleaning.
  • Through the combination of SINT®AL or SINT®ER trough lining with a screw made from the same material zero clearance between the trough and the screw is achieved. The result is residue-free self cleaning of the conveyor or feeder.
  • Flexibility of the screw means better adaptability to the trough and less stress on the bearings.
  • Lower weight of the screw causes reduced stress on the bearings and lower drive power requirement.
  • SINT®AL and SINT®ER are resistant to acids, salt, alkali, detergents and various other products.
  • The rounded link between the centre pipe and the helicoid flighting prevents material residues.
